ABSTRACT
Rechargeable Power packs are comprised of a special battery in a special case with a special circuit to control power flow. They allow you to store electrical energy (deposit it in the bank) and then later use it to charge laptop via the laptop charger. This device composed of four-cell 12,000 mAh lithium-ion battery, a DC-to-AC inverter, and a and standard 220-volt Nigeria wall plug on the front.

1.0 INTRODUCTION
Sometimes there is nothing worse than losing all the charges on your laptop computer especially when you are in the middle of something very important. Usually this happens at the most inconvenient time probably when you are using your laptop computer to surf the web, in the middle of a browsing or when you are desperate to send an important email or text message [9]. Nonetheless, in this dispensation of global village, there is never a good time! If you are always on the move and you never know whether there is power supply in the place you are moving to, the very last thing you would imagine is to have your laptop computer low or even empty on battery. For those who depend largely on their mobile devices, not having enough power for the battery can be a major catastrophe. How else will people reach you or how will you email people for business or personal reasons when your laptop computer is basically useless as it has gone off on you? All these are problem to our present time, to bring this problem to an end, power pack was introduced which is a portable device that can supply USB power using stored energy in its built-in batteries. 1.2 OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT
The objective of the project is to design a device that is used to recharge mobile devices such as laptop computer when and where there is no power supply to charge the device from mains supply. This work composed of four-cell 12,000 mAh lithium-ion battery, a DC-to-AC inverter, and a and standard 220-volt Nigeria wall plug on the front[7].
1.3 SIGNIFICANCE OF THE PROJECT
Power bank serve as an ‘extra battery’ or external charger for your laptop computer or other electronic devices. Power bank helps to ensure longer hours of typing, phone calls, or web browsing using your laptop computer.
1.4 SCOPE OF THE PROJECT
Laptop computer batteries often die at very inconvenient times, with no ac power outlet nearby. This device uses standard li-on batteries, which can be bought almost anywhere, to recharge laptop computer.
The circuit chargers that typically come with laptop computer charge the battery for a brief period of time. Then, they stop, check the voltage, and verify the temperature against an internal table before deciding to stop or continue the charging process. The charging regulation required by the battery is performed within the device getting charged, and this design takes advantage of that circuit.
1.5 LIMITATION OF THE PROJECT
it can only be recharged with mains supply, that is 220vac the duration of the charged when in used depend on the number of cell used, that is the current of the charger.
1.6 PROBLEM OF THE PROJECT
The only issue I can really see is that the laptop power bank Charger is pretty heavy; if you already have a heavy shoulder bag, you probably won’t cherish the thought of adding it.
1.7 PROJECT WORK ORGANIZATION
The various stages involved in the development of this project have been properly put into five chapters to enhance comprehensive and concise reading. In this project thesis, the project is organized sequentially as follows:
Chapter one of this work is on the introduction to the study. In this chapter, the background, significance, objective limitation and problem of the study were discussed.
Chapter two is on literature review of this study. In this chapter, all the literature pertaining to this work was reviewed.
Chapter three is on design methodology. In this chapter all the method involved during the design and construction were discussed.
Chapter four is on testing analysis. All testing that result accurate functionality was analyzed.
Chapter five is on conclusion, recommendation and references.
