ABSTRACT
Bucket Grease Pump is a portable manually operated greasing unit with its own 15kg container. The 15kg unit is constructed with a high pressure and a high volume variation. The high volume variation can be used as a filler pump for centralized lubrication pots. The 15kg unit is only available in metal whereas the 15kg unit is available in both metal and a robust, durable, lightweight Polyethylene.
This device Used for lubricating machines and spare parts, this grease is highly admired for its excellent lubrication, high temperature resistance, accurate composition and superior stability. Properly packed, this 15 Kg Grease Bucket is also examined against diverse aspects to ensure the delivery of impeccable application.

1.1 INTRODUCTION
Grease is a semisolid lubricant. Grease generally consists of a soap emulsified with mineral or vegetable oil. The characteristic feature of greases is that they possess a high initial viscosity, which upon the application of shear, drops to give the effect of an oil-lubricated bearing of approximately the same viscosity as the base oil used in the grease. This change in viscosity is called shear thinning. Grease is sometimes used to describe lubricating materials that are simply soft solids or high viscosity liquids, but these materials do not exhibit the shear-thinning properties characteristic of the classical grease. For example, petroleum jellies such as Vaseline are not generally classified as greases.
Greases are applied only to mechanisms that can be lubricated infrequently and where a lubricating oil would not stay in position. They also act as sealants to prevent ingress of water and incompressible materials. Grease-lubricated bearings have greater frictional characteristics due to their high viscosity.
Traditionally and locally, grease is applied with finger to machine moving parts but the major problem of this method of grease application is that the grease cannot get to hidden parts of the machine. In order to solve this problem a grease bucket is constructed.
A grease bucket is a common workshop and garage tool used for lubrication. The purpose of the grease bucket is to apply lubricant through an aperture to a specific point, usually on a grease fitting or ‘nipple’. The channels behind the grease nipple lead to where the lubrication is needed. The aperture may be of a type that fits closely with a receiving aperture on any number of mechanical devices. The close fitting of the apertures ensures that lubricant is applied only where needed.
Grease bucket are the most widely used pumps in industrial world. These bucket is usually compact & rigid thereby, being an easy and convenient option for lubrication.
The grease buckets are meant for dispensing grease as a lubricant to the parts of application in a machine. The grease bucket is quite convenient and apt for machines comprising of 1-20 lubrication points.
1.2 OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT
The main objective of this work is to construct a Lever Operated grease bucket mounded on cover of drum with Quick and easy openable cover. Removable Handle comes complete with high pressure hose fitted with accessories.
1.3 SIGNIFICANCE OF THE PROJECT
- Cast iron pump outlet body and handle provide durability and longevity.
- Air expeller built into pump tube prevents air from registering through meter.
iii. Large replaceable swivel casters provide ease of maneuverability.
- Robust construction.
- Complete with universal follower plate.
vii. Easy to use grease filling solution to load bulk or combination grease gun.
viii. with this device, no mess, no waste.
1.4 APPLICATION OF THE PROJECT
This device is found useful wherever higher machineries are used such as in the following places:
- Workshops
- Factories
- Garage
1.5 ADVANTAGES OF THE PROJECT
A garage or workshop is not complete until you have a grease bucket added to your arsenal. The principle behind a grease bucket is that it uses compressed air and pistons to force grease from the nozzle to the desired location. The following are the several distinct advantages you have when using a grease bucket.
1. Prevents Waste
Using grease bucket, oil or lube around the garage with your vehicles is something any tinkerer has to do. If you are rebuilding a classic automobile or fixing up and lawn mower there is always a need to use lubricant. A grease bucket allows you to precisely measure out how much oil you will use on each pull of the trigger. This is important for one major reason: waste. The grease bucket will prevent it. Trying to lube a ball bearing by hand will undoubtedly cause you to use much more grease than you need to. On the other hand, you may not use enough, in which case the bearing could seize. The grease bucket will stop waste and provide an accurate amount of grease every time.
2. Better Saturation
Being able to get grease where it is needed is incredibly important to maintain the life of the machine and its components. Most other devices that disperse grease will spray a shot of it over the area. A grease bucket allows you to get right into the area where it is required. When you squeeze the trigger the grease is forced from the nozzle and directly at the area, instead of in its general direction.
3. Longevity
If you own a shop or are constantly rebuilding machinery you look for products that will last for years to come. The cost will typically be more, but in the end you will save money by buying quality from the start and not having to replace the equipment often. A grease bucket, if properly cared for and maintained, can last for over a decade.
4. Speed and Accuracy
A grease bucket affords you the ability to grease an entire underside of a machine, car or truck in under a minute. If you have more than one vehicle on a lift to get greased you can have them all finished in a handful of minutes.
