ABSTRACT
An electric motor converts electrical energy into a mechanical energy which is then supplied to different types of loads. A.c. motors operate on an a.c. supply, and they are classified into synchronous, single phase and 3 phase induction, and special purpose motors. Out of all types, 3 phase induction motors are most widely used for industrial applications mainly because they do not require a starting device. This device offer an indicating means as when the motor is running at normal operating condition and when it is under fault condition. However, by this wiring for 3 phase motor three light indicator were used. In this connection first we connect neutral / ground wire to all indicators and then we connect one – one phase to indicators and vice-versa.

1.0 INTRODUCTION
1.1 BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
An electrical motor is such an electromechanical device which converts electrical energy into a mechanical energy. In case of three phase AC operation, most widely used motor is three phase induction motor as this type of motor does not require any starting device or we can say they are self-starting induction motor. For better understanding the principle of three phase induction motor, the basic constructional feature of this motor must be known to us. This Motor consists of two major parts: Stator: Stator of three phase induction motor is made up of numbers of slots to construct a 3 phase winding circuit which is connected to 3 phase AC source. The three phase winding are arranged in such a manner in the slots that they produce a rotating magnetic field after 3Ph. AC supply is given to them. Rotor: Rotor of three phase induction motor consists of cylindrical laminated core with parallel slots that can carry conductors. Conductors are heavy copper or aluminum bars which fits in each slots & they are short circuited by the end rings. The slots are not exactly made parallel to the axis of the shaft but are slotted a little skewed because this arrangement reduces magnetic humming noise & can avoid stalling of motor.
In power wiring or 3 phase 4 wire system, we used the 3 phase power of all electric induction motors, equipments etc, but we did not ignore the neutral wire or ground wire. In many place we required neutral wire to complete circuit. But This is also important to know about our lines or 3 phases that these 3 phase wire properly working or are every phase incoming supply is coming properly and not cut or broken in main power supply wire. So this very important to test or know about our 3 phase supply coming properly, for that we use led indicator and this post is also about indicator wiring diagram. Yes this connection is very important and we do it any every main 3 phase panel board.
This project is on the construction of a 3-phase motor operation indicator this involve the starting and stopping of the motor.
1.2 AIM AND OBJECTIVES
The aim of this project construction is to offer an indicating means as when the motor is running at normal operating condition and when it is under fault condition respectively.
1.3 THE SCOPE OF THE PROJECT
The scope of this project construction ranges from the purchasing of some components (electrical) and employing of all technical skills and knowledge in engineering principles to achieve the aim in the control and indication of the operation of three phase electric motor. This involve the usage of a contactor overload relays start and stop push bottoms pilot lamps and other component geared at achieving the desired goal earlier stated.
1.4 LIMITATION OF THE PROJECT
This particular work is designed only to be used in a three-phase AC power supply system. This three-phase supply consists of three phases, generally represented as R, Y and B or A, B and C.
1.5 SIGNIFICANCE OF THE PROJECT
This three phase induction motor operation indicator plays a critical role in indicating the operation of the three-phase-electrical motors. If this operation is altered or stopped, then the device will indicate it via LED, which may cause temporary or permanent failure of motor. So, it is important to keep the phase in operation or to maintain the proper motor operation.
1.6 ORGANIZATION OF THE REPORT
The various stages involved in the development of this project have been properly put into five chapters to enhance comprehensive and concise reading. In this project thesis, the project is organized sequentially as follows:
Chapter one of this work is on the introduction to a motor operation indicator. In this chapter, the background, significance, objective limitation and problem of motor operation indicator were discussed.
Chapter two is on literature review of motor operation indicator. In this chapter, all the literature pertaining to this work was reviewed.
Chapter three is on design methodology. In this chapter all the method involved during the design and construction were discussed.
Chapter four is on testing analysis. All testing that result accurate functionality was analyzed.
Chapter five is on conclusion, recommendation and references.
