ABSTRACT
Power bank is a good solution for portable mobile or other electronic gadgets charging without an AC adaptor when we out of the home. Power bank is a portable DC power source to provide a backup for your electronic gadgets. The power is stored in a power ban by charging and it can be used when you need, In any power bank, A battery or combination of some small special batteries (cells) used to produce the power source to provide for mobile or other electronic gadgets battery charging.
Computer Power Bank comprised of a special battery in a special case with a special circuit to control power flow. They allow you to store electrical energy (deposit it in the bank) and then later use it to charge laptop via the laptop charger. This device composed of 200000MAH lithium-ion battery bank, charging circuit and boost converter .

1.0 INTRODUCTION
1.1 BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
A computer power bank is a portable laptop computer battery charger, or recharger,[1][2] which is used to put energy into a secondary cell or rechargeable battery of a laptop computer by forcing an electric current through it.
This device supplies power from its built-in battery through a charging port. Power banks are popular for charging devices when little adjustment is made on it. They can also be used as a power supply for various powered devices such as lights and small fans. They usually recharge with a power supply. The power bank includes a control circuit that both regulates charging of the battery and converts the battery voltage for the device. Some chargers for cells like 18650s and 26650 can also serve as a power bank. Although it is generally more cumbersome to carry such a charger with cells rather than a conventional power bank, this type of setup has the advantage of being able to charge cells for other uses. It also has the advantage that, when the cells are dead, they can be swapped for fresh cells for immediate use rather than having to be recharged first.
1.2 PROBLEM STATEMENT
Sometimes there is nothing worse than losing all the charges on your laptop computer especially when you are in the middle of something very important. Usually this happens at the most inconvenient time probably when you are using your laptop computer to surf the web, in the middle of a browsing or when you are desperate to send an important email or text message. Nonetheless, in this dispensation of global village, there is never a good time! If you are always on the move and you never know whether there is power supply in the place you are moving to, the very last thing you would imagine is to have your laptop computer low or even empty on battery. For those who depend largely on their mobile devices, not having enough power for the battery can be a major catastrophe. How else will people reach you or how will you email people for business or personal reasons when your laptop computer is basically useless as it has gone off on you? All these are problem to our present time, to bring this problem to an end, power bank was introduced which is a portable device that can supply power using stored energy in its built-in batteries [1,2].
1.2 AIM AND OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT
The main aim of this work is to build a 200000mAh laptop power bank. The objectives of the project are:
- To build the device at low cost
- To maintain a charged laptop that is not easily affected by the erratic nature of power supply in our country.
- To study how to connect multiple lithium battery both in series and parallel.
1.3 SIGNIFICANCE OF THE PROJECT
Carrying out this study is a way of providing extra battery or external charger for your laptop computer thereby ensuring longer hours of using your laptop computer.
The study will serve as a means of exposing us to the series and parallel connection of lithium batteries.
1.4 SCOPE OF THE PROJECT
The scope of this work covers building a laptop computer power bank. This device uses standard li-on batteries, which can be bought almost anywhere, to recharge laptop computer [3][4].
The circuit comprises of a power supply which charges the battery, a 12v/200000mAh battery bank and a boost converter which converts the 12v from the battery to the required voltage of the laptop.
The duration of the charged when in used depend on the number of cell used, and the current of the charger.
1.5 PROBLEM OF THE PROJECT
The only issue I can really see is that the laptop power bank Charger is pretty heavy; if you already have a heavy shoulder bag, you probably won’t cherish the thought of adding it.
1.6 PROJECT WORK ORGANISATION
The various stages involved in the development of this project have been properly put into five chapters to enhance comprehensive and concise reading. In this project thesis, the project is organized sequentially as follows:
Chapter one of this work is on the introduction to the study. In this chapter, the background, significance, objective limitation and problem of the study were discussed.
Chapter two is on literature review of this study. In this chapter, all the literature pertaining to this work was reviewed.
Chapter three is on design methodology. In this chapter all the method involved during the design and construction were discussed.
Chapter four is on testing analysis. All testing that result accurate functionality was analyzed.
Chapter five is on conclusion, recommendation and references.
